Meet me and my class
Michael K.J. Babb is an educator who builds technology and STEM programs that win — and that move students into real opportunity. A Computer Science Engineering Teacher and Senior College Readiness Teacher at Paul International Public Charter School in Washington, DC, he founded PI Tech Network and grew it from 20 students to 60+, earned six DC TSA State Championships in two years, coached back-to-back undefeated esports seasons and an Eastern Region title, launched a chess program that produced a DC State Open champion in its first year, and helped students land Microsoft internships and full-ride scholarships.
He holds a Master of Public Administration, a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, an AWS Cloud Practitioner certification, and PLTW certification in computer science. A former Dean of Students and Dean of School Culture, Michael works at both the classroom and systems level of education. His belief — access is the foundation of opportunity — shows up in every program he builds. He loves helping schools, districts, and education leaders build programs that win championships and change trajectories.
Professional Philosophy
Every student has strengths, interests, and potential. The challenge is that most young people only see a fraction of what they're capable of becoming.
My mission is to help students discover their gifts, connect them to real opportunities, and build the confidence to chase goals that once felt out of reach.
Through computer science, esports, leadership, CTSOs, and competition, students gain far more than technical skills — they learn to think bigger, lead, and create opportunities for themselves.
Education is at its best when it expands a student's vision of their future. When students can see a bigger future, they start building it.
